“We actually misnamed the war on terror, it ought to be the ‘struggle against
ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies who happen to use
terror as a weapon to try to shake the conscience of the free world.’”
George W. Bush – August 5, 2004 – Washington, D.C.
Ah, George that just trips of the tongue, although I think people should never declare war on a noun it never seems to turn out very well (Terror, Drugs, Poverty)
So what will I do when he steps out of the White House, I suppose I could just write about something more interesting instead.
Finally typing up my essay on Time (honour) and Arete (Virtue). Not
sure if I have covered all the points, but I need to get it done and
submitted. Lots to do next week with work, DIY jobs and the next part
of the course.
All that and I am still stuck on the encore song from the Japanese
tour in guitar hero, so I need to do some serious practice.
Now back to typing.
From the phone.
Okay so I could always blog from the sofa using my laptop, but how
much more fun is it to use a tiny touchscreen keyboard on an iPhone.
Okay, we are still in testing mode so I just want to get the hang of
blabbing anywhere, anytime.
Now back to the simpsons.
A great day out at the Moycarn Lodge in Ballinasloe.
The event was organised as a fundraiser for The Ballinasloe Musical Society and was great fun for the adults and children
that attended. My boys were outside playing and joining in all the events, which included soccer shoot outs, three legged and egg & spoon races.
There were adult heats of these races also and I got pipped at the post to come in second or possibly third in the egg & spoon race, got myself a Honk T-Shirt for my trouble all the same.
Even though the weather was a little shakey, it stayed mainly dry if somewhat cold. Congratulations to the Moycarn and the Musical Society for a fun (and free) day out.
We didn’t win the duck race though!
Funny because the pics of Alex have managed to get posted with no problem.

Why?, originally uploaded by Jason O’Leary.
My life may not be that interesting by some standards, but by golly, I mean to make it at least look interesting. Which is why I have switched to WordPress and slapped this oldé worldé stock theme on. So with these new tools I move my blogging into a new era of ….. what? The need that is actually filled with WordPress is the abilityfor people to leave comments, I have actually had a request (thanks Anner) for this feature, other than that the rest has just been a way for me to do something, anything other than the essay I am supposed to be writing. Not good!
Well not all bad. I have the first draft nearly done and all the work on this site have been done at the end of my study sessions for a wind down (possibly a wind up – who knows?) I know, surely I have better things to do with my time than play around with WordPress, obviously, write some more essay would be good. Anyway I have basically been devoting Gaming / TV time to this as a way to stop thinking about Homer, Achilleus, Hektor, Arete and Timé, which believe me is a good thing to do before bed.
So back to the original question, what do you think? Please post a comment, even if you strayed in from some 9th dimension, or were forced to read this by a sadist, at knife point.
A big part of St. Patrick’s Day is having white people feel particularly upset at the oppression of their ancestors that has in no way trickled down to them. If you find yourself talking with a white person who tells you about how their great grandfather was oppressed by both the English and the Americans, it is strongly recommended that you lend a sympathetic ear and shake your head in disbelief. It is never considered acceptable to say: ?but you?re white now, so what?s the problem???
